Performing Arts Hub Norway works in collaboration with several partners nationally and internationally.

Long-term collaborations and partnerships strengthen the access to national and international performing arts communities for Norwegian performing artists and are important tools in Performing Arts Hub Norway's work to strengthen opportunities for and competence on independent performing arts.

Norwegian Arts Abroad

Performing Arts Hub Norway is one of seven professional arts organisations with particular responsibility for international promotion and cultural collaborations. We receive support from The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Norwegian Ministry of Culture for this work.

Norwegian Arts Abroad consists of Music Norway, Office for Contemporary Art (OCA), NORLA, Norwegian Crafts, DOGA, Norwegian Film Institute and Performing Arts Hub Norway.

The network Norwegian Arts Abroad aims to:

  1. Promote the value, range, and potential of Norwegian arts abroad

  2. increase the export and international presence of the professional fields through strengthening relevant measures and management

  3. Use and promote the expertise of the member organisations, as a measure to advocate the field's interests at an international level

The organisations work to bridge political management, research communities and artistic enterprises, and to connect these with the public. The network is part of The Norwegian Ministry of Culture's apparatus and advises The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Library of Norway

Performing Arts Hub Norway collaborates long-term with The National Library of Norway in its archive work. The work is concentrated on gathering, preserving, digitising, and making archival materials on Norwegian performing arts available. The collaboration also includes measures on increasing competence on performing arts archives, in the form of seminars and conferences.

Performing Criticism Globally

An increasing number of Norwegian performing artists perform their productions internationally. At the same time, criticism of performing arts spreads from traditional news media to new publishing platforms. Which is the function of performing arts criticism in international dissipation of productions? Which is its role in a major newspaper or in a web publication started by critics?

Seminar and workshop. The project was initiated by Performing Arts Hub Norway, Dansearena nord, Hild Borchgrevink, Anette Therese Pettersen, Arctic Arts Festival and RAVNEDANS. The project is part of Performing Arts Hub Norway's efforts for cultural and creative enterprises. Read more

The DEN - Dance Expo Norway

The DEN - Dance Expo Norway is a meeting point for professional dance. This multiyear programme from 2019-2021 includes presentations, seminars and conferences for artists and producers in dance. As part of international platforms in Norway, the artists will be able to present their works to schedulers from all over the world. This is the place to see new and exciting dance from Norway firsthand! The project is a major collaboration between CODA and the five main dance institutions in Oslo, the capital, Performing Arts Hub Norway and five dance festivals all over the country.

Nordics Combined

Performing Arts Hub Norway collaborates long-term with Dance Info Finland, Circus Info Finland, Swedish Arts Council, Danish Arts Foundation, and Performing Arts Iceland. We collaborate on shared Nordic measures within international platforms, in Europe as well as trade gatherings at other continents. The work strengthens Nordic visibility. We also collaborate on the content of and share information on large international Nordic promotion efforts for performing arts (Nordic Cool, Nordic Matters et cetera).

Nordic Circle of Artistic Management

Nordic Circle of Artistic Management is a Nordic collaboration project. The project consists of two modules: a mentor programme and a workshop programme. The project aims to contribute to strengthening the artistic and professional level of the field of professional dance.
